what is crossfit?

CrossFit is a challenging, extremely effective, and fun focused fitness program.
It's for people who want to make their lives better. We train people just like you: parents, teachers, students, former collegiate and professional athletes, military and law enforcement, and folks who never dreamed they'd be in better shape at 40 than they were at 25. Our workouts will improve all aspects of your fitness goals. CrossFit Helena is veteran owned and operated.

What can crossfit do for you?

Coming into CrossFit Helena is a great way to get back in shape, get in shape for the first time, or to take your overall fitness to new heights. If you're looking for something different, something fun, and - most importantly - something that works, you're in the right place! We don't use weight machines and we won't put you on a treadmill: we use a combination of training methods that are proven to get results.

By using methods that are constantly varied in intensity, duration, movement, and time, CrossFit training provides the ultimate regimen for developing personal strength and fitness. CrossFit's focus is a deliberate attempt to optimize your fitness health. Individual and small group sessions uphold the standards of mechanics, consistency, and intensity, all of which drive our training. Participants receive the attention and coaching typically only seen in personal training sessions.

Genevieve Anderson

Genevieve Anderson - CrossFit Level 1 was born and raised in Helena where she ran around the neighborhood and parks like an orangutan who drank an energy shot. She would climb trees, swing set frames, and occasionally nearby buildings. Not thinking of ankle or vest weights to slow her down, and unable to afford gymnastic lessons, her parents allowed her to train in the yard with self-made tumbling apparatuses, to hang out on rooftops, and to explore the great outdoors to her heart's content while they hoped for the best. As dumb luck would have it, she never broke a bone, signed up for every free sport offered throughout school, and went on to compete with real athletes in college for indoor track, outdoor track, and cross-country. Apparently living under a rock, unaware of the contagious workout fun-in-a-box, years flew by like time at a theme park. Eventually, she stumbled upon CrossFit thanks to her thoughtful husband, and it was a perfect fit (like PB&J, like Calvin & Hobbes... like bacon & CrossFitters!). She has been consistently attending since November 2012, but what keeps her coming back is primarily the encouraging positive atmosphere and the friendships that develop over a great cup of athletic kicka**. Her hero is her husband, a power lifter and genuinely nice, considerate guy, not to mention handsome. She looks up to her 3 kids who tackle their own personal challenges without giving up. Mountains find her hiking, biking, and painting them while rivers carry her, her boats, and her camera gear often. Teenagers flock to her class to listen, text, or daydream while she awes them with one-of-a-kind art lessons. Presented with a Level 1 Certificate in July of 2013, her passion for sports coupled with a huge love for coaching is official - a 25 year old bucket list item that had been waiting for the right place and people to come along.

Community Partners

CrossFit Helena is proud to partner with The Lewis & Clark Humane Society. We are excited to participate in various fundraisers with this fantastic organization. The Humane Society is not a traditional "dog pound". Over 95% of the animals at LCHS find a new, permanent home, as opposed to the national average of 40%. They spay and neuter thousands of animals each year, and are proud to help the animals of our community by connecting them with loving homes.
